Fabulous food with intricate sauces, perfectly prepared. We shared a few small plates before the full dinner, 7 tastings in all, and each was delish! Danny was the perfect server. Thank you all for such an enjoyable night!

Hands down my favorite place to eat in Colorado. The food is just right, the atmosphere is cozy and no matter what I order it hits the spot every time. Friendly staff and chef's who know what they are doing.

This place is incredible. My favorite restaurant in Colorado. Everything is made with excellence. Even the bread that they serve is to die for!!

Sorry to hear Uniscali closed. Every time we ate there we found the food to be delicious and the service outstanding. I only hope the owners find a larger location in the Castle Rock area to accommodate their very loyal customers.

My husband and I love this restaurant. Whether we go for happy hour w/ drinks and appetizers or a full meal - we are never disappointed. Last night was our latest visit. Celebrating our 33rd anniversary - we were given a cozy table for two. Drinks came quickly and we were given plenty of time to peruse the menu. Mussels are a "musst"! Delicate in a tomato/sausage broth. Last night the fennel really stood out - which I love. Hubby had the Cioppino and I had the special - a 4oz filet over a spinach and crab risotto. DEEELISH! Crab was plentiful. Dessert was on the house - carrot cake that was really good - but probably not made there. All in all - a great date place, intimate and friendly. If you can get a seat at the counter and watch all the action - do it - it's too much fun!

There is NO way this restaurant is only 4.5 - in the last year we have visited many times ~ just last eve and was extremely pleased with service friendly greeters, not to mention the amazing dishes!!!! TEN stars all the way!!!!

Hubs and I are already planning our return here, so I'd say we're fans. I'd heard lots of great things about the happy hour here so after we'd shopping at the Outlets, we decided to drop in. There were only 2 seats left at the community table and apparently those all can be reserved- even the bar seats- so make reservations if you're planning a weekend visit! Their happy hour is truly delightul. Generous pours of wine for $5 and some select speciality cocktails and beers as well. The food is the star, though. Though Hubs initially complained about my demand to try the brussels sprouts, we were both blown away by this dish. We almost ordered a second. Incredible. The sherry viniagrette was amazingly tasty. I then ordered the mussels and Hubs had the pizza. He liked the pizza but didn't care for the potatoes on it. The mussels were very good- the broth was delicious and I drank up every bit of it. So much on the menu looks wonderful, we wish we'd had more room in our bellies to try more. But that is why we are already planning the next visit...

Love the place. Great food and wine list. Sit at the bar and watch all the grill activity.

Let me start off this review with a delicious drawn out moan of satisfction for the house made grilled ciabatta, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Can you say Ahhhhhmazing? Cause I can't right now my mouth is actively salivating at the mere thought of the stuff.... Uniscali is a gem. It's chic and tiny, the vibe is really laid back although the food is done very well. The kitchen is completely out in the open for all to see which I really dig. Our server was warm and inviting, funny at times, and had great reccomendations. We each had a mezzolitre of wine. Robert Pepi Chardonnay for me, which was my perfect chard btw, crisp, dry and not too fruity and my hubs had a red, can't really remember the name but he enjoyed it. For starters I chose the spinach salad, it was fresh, crisp and beautiful my only small complaint was that the dressing was a tad too salty. My husband ordered the spicy fried calamari. OH MY LAND, it was just sooo sooo good! Cooked to perfection, not too crispy so the calamari was NOT in any way rubbery and served with a scrumptious garlic aoli and this sweet and spicy dipping sauce. On to the entrees, I chose the beef tenderloin, medium. The garlic mash that was served with it were sinful. The ternderloin was grilled perfectly and I finished every bite which I never do! My husband had the lamb loin and was very happy. The rosemary roasted potatoes that they served with it were not that great, more like a potato chip, dried out , chewy and somewhat flavorless. Since it was our first time there they served us a complimentary dessert of out choice. We decided on the tiramisu bread pudding with mascarpone ice cream. When our server brought our dessert she also brought us each a mini snifter of complimentary house made limoncello! Such a nice surprise! The ice cream was to die for and the bread pudding was very good too, just a little rich for me. The service here was SO much better than our previous visit to their sister restaurant Union. The manager stopped by our table and chatted with us for a while, our server was not at all obtrusive or assuming about when we were done, and we felt very comfortable staying a while and relaxing. Overall, we loved it, it was a little on the spendy side but well worth it.

We had an early dinner at Uniscali a couple of weeks ago and I was very pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We started off with the mussels in white wine, and the calamari steak fries. Both were amazingly good! The mussels were cooked just right, moist and plump, and the broth, delicious. I feared that the calamari might be chewy because they were cut like fat fries (not rings), but they were quite tender and flavorful. For our entrees we ordered the Cioppino, Scallops and the Beef Tenderloin and again, satisfied diners all around our table. Service was friendly, but not overly so. Will come back.

Best kept happy hour secret in Castle Rock if you want to meet friends and actually hear each other. Happy hours apps are wonderful. Expect the entrees would be as well, but never have room. Very few tables and reservations are suggested.

We arrived for a 7:30 p.m. reservation. We were not greated by the hostess for over 10 minutes. When finally greated, we told her about our reservation. She said they would be putting two tables together (there were 5 of us) and pointed to the tables.. About 5 minutes later when the tables were bussed and put together, suddenly they take some people who were sitting at a dining "bar" and seat them at "our" table. We stood there for another 5 minutes and the hostess never explained what was happening. So we left. As we were getting in our car, the hostess came out and said we should be patient and she'd give us some free "little plates." However, we knew there were no tables available and left. We went down the street to Siena where we were immediately greated and seated, and had a wonderful meal and service.

I met the "football moms" here tonight for dinner/drinks/laughing. Happy hour rocked and the wine was delicious. Luna "Freak Out" is my one of my new favs! Good prices for wine at Happy Hour and nice "small plates" for reasonable prices. The joint is nice. This particular building has been many things and I have to say that in the 16 years since it was built, this has been my favorite incarnation. Uniscali is the sister restaurant to The Union Bistro, also in Castle Rock. I have to say I prefer the fare here at the Uniscali. Not so big on the huge garlic taste and big overpowering flavors. Uniscali does not have a full bar so you are drinking wine and beer, but they seem to have done a great job in both areas. Our service was only mediocre. The waiter seemed to feel more bothered by us than pleased that we were there. Not very attentive and slow to meet our needs. I have to take the rating down for that. The food was good. We ordered 3 appetizers and two of them were VERYgood, the crab and the meatballs. The fondue was just, Okay. I had the Cesar salad with Salmon and the salmon was lovely. The salad was fine. Large leaves and a sticky knife to cut them with were not my favorite part of the evening. Overall, I would go back. My husband would hate it because of the hard chairs and close proximity to other diners, but social girl that I am was fine with all of that. 11/27/2011 Updating this review to say that Uniscali has decidedly grown into itself! This is now my favorite place in town and the food just keeps getting better and better. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and the same $2 HH doesn't hurt a bit! The food is inventive and fun, fresh and delicious! The only downside is that there is ALWAYS a wait and that is IF you can get in without a reservation. LOVE UNISCALI!

Uniscali is exceptional for Castle Rock, and would still be pretty good if it were located somewhere with more competition. The Italian egg rolls were quite tasty, and my cioppino was excellent. Portions are on the 'just right' side, but those who like really huge portions will be disappointed. Service was good.

very small--reservations recommended. this place is really cute and a fooler from the outside. scallop app is very good. salads are the perfect size and really reasonably priced--about $3 for a small one. i preferred their house salad over the casaer. my mom had the veal piccata. i had the cioppiono--delicious. we would have never found this place had it not been a favorite of the couple we were staying with--small and tucked away. we were lucky. you won't leave hungry and you'll want to go back.

Terrific place! You might consider this a 4-star rating if you don't like being in close proximity to your neighbor table, but as long as we're not knocking each other over, I'm fine. Uniscali is a new restaurant (I believe under the same management as Union Bistro a little further down the street) focusing on "modern Italian food & drink". It doesn't disappoint! The restaurant is small and intimate, with a cozy but upscale feel to it. The food was incredible. We had the Uniscali salad, bruscetta (sp?) appetizer, and I had the lamb special. Throw in a glass of wine, and our total bill was only about $70. All in all, Uniscali provides a terrific dining experience! A couple pieces of advice: - I would not recommend bringing kids, although I'm sure they wouldn't be turned away. - I suggest making a reservation. The place is quite small with probably less than 20 tables. They only serve dinner (open @ 5PM), so call earlier in the day (or the evening before when they're open) and leave a message for a reservation.

Good, but not for the price. Plus no full bar. I would drive down the street and go to Union Bistro instead (owned by the same people I think).

Uniscali has nice ambiance and good food. They also serve small portions at big prices. A plate of tortellini, about 13 the size of dimes, with asparagus for $16.50. Everything is ala carte and I wasn't willing to pop for an $8.00 salad. Their complimentary bread is excellent but you're served one slice per person and they will, reluctantly, provide another slice. Another reviewer said their dinner for two was $100. We refrained from salads, appetizers, alcohol and dessert so we got out with our pants on but who wants to dine out like that? The place was full on a weeknight so evidently I'm in the minority in the "let's get hosed club". If you already have a home equity line of credit established, Uniscali can help you break it in.

Call before you go - reservation advised and not open every night. BUT...totally worth the pre-planning! I gave inky eaten the small bites so cannot comment on dinner. Small bites are excellent!!! Have several and don't even worry about dinner!!

A dinner only restaurant that kicks you out. We arrived at 8:30p on a Friday night. We were seated promptly. For such a small place, our server should have been quick to serve, but alas he was not. We ordered waters. He returned and we ordered appetizers. This would have been a great time to inform us that the kitchen closes at 9p. A fact we found out as we were taking our time with the appetizers and the server Tom came to our table and said, " The kitchen is closing." I told him that we'd go somewhere else to eat. I asked my wife what time it was. It was 9:02. For a place that only serves dinner, you would think they wouldn't try to shoo us out or inform us when we arrive that the kitchen closes at 9. Bad service. I won't be trying to eat hetr again. Their loss. Maybe I'll spend my money at scoreboard pizzeria, at least they don't shoo you out.

Had a LOVELY meal here while staying with friends who live in Castle Rock. Atmosphere was "trendy bistro", and it had a great vibe. The dining room is fairly small, and we had to sit very close to the door (which on a snowy Denver night can be drafty and cold), but we're comfortable nonetheless. The servers were friendly and engaging and took extra care with us since one of my friends has concerns about gluten intolerance. The servers were very knowledgable about how the dishes were prepared, and helped guide her selections. They also pointed out which dishes contained gluten as they were delivered to our table since we were sharing appetizers. I had the roasted beet salad with goat cheese followed by coop piano. Both were outstanding. My friends enjoyed their apps and entrees as well. The presentation of all dishes was artful and very appealing. We finished by sharing the gelato-it was delicious. I also had a cappuccino-it came out fresh, super hot and super foamy. Absolutely perfect. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Castle Rock!

The best restaurant in Castle Rock. Amid a sea of greasy spoon restaurants and mediocre local spots, this is a shining gem that may rival some of the better restaurants of Downtown Denver. The cheese tray was awesome, the ceasar salad had a unique presentation and I remember the entree being yummy as well! The main drawback (maybe an advantage to some) is the place sucks for kids. Last time we went, they intentionally didn't have any high chairs. Regardless, this is the place to eat in town if you're looking for the best of what Castle Rock has to offer.

Pleasantly surprised. We stopped in after hiking on our way home. A friend mentioned this place and we decide to stop in for dinner. At first we almost left because we felt uncomfortable for being under-dressed, but the manager offered us a glass of wine while we waited and he didn't seem to be bothered by us. So we decided to stay and give it shot. The place is quaint but nice. And the food... Started with; Pork Wings - super tender, awesome Clams and Mussels - great sauce, fresh Entrees; Gnudi (hope I spelled it right) - perfectly cooked gnudi, well balance flavors, very good Chippino - big pieces of seafood, great broth, wife stated, "best in Colorado I've had" (she's had a bunch) Dessert; Tiramisu - good, pretty standard Overall, we had great food AND great service. Will recommend, Definitely will go back.

Enjoyed happy hour here last Friday. After reading some of the negative reviews, I didn't have high hopes, but was very pleasantly surprised. Our group had a reservation, which I would recommend based on the size. Our server was very friendly, and we had good service by everyone. The happy hour menu had a wide selection of items and good prices. Some in our group were not impressed by the grilled romaine lettuce - called cesear salad. But I had Panzanella salad and it was awesome.

This is Douglas County's hidden secret. Every meal we have had there has been superb. The restaurant is small and only open for dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday so make sure to get a reservation. The decor is very warm and inviting. The service is also excellent. They have a tremendous selection of "small plates" (apps) and a nice selection of entrees. They change the menu up on a fairly regular basis --- keeping their specialties and adding new and interesting items. This restaurant is worth driving down from Denver to visit.

I really like this place. Didn't know they have a great happy hour. They have $2 beer, and bellinis. And they have some happy hour apps. They have an afternoon happy hour, as well as one from 8 to 9, which is cool.

Uniscali is fantastic! Went with some friends and loved everything! As soon as we walked in, the place smelled so great. We sat the bar table next to the kitchen, which was fun and it made us very hungry as we could smell everything that was being made. The server was superb and had great suggestions. The 4 of us split some appetizers, which I don't recall as we went this past summer, but I do remember that I loved them all. I had a special, which had shrimp, angel hair and a yummy sauce. One friend had the gnocchi and another had the ahi tuna and everyone was very happy. I had a bite of the gnocchi and was in heaven. I will have to get that when I go back! The entire evening was extremely special for a night that was not expected to be. I don't live close to Castle Rock, but will definitely venture back...well worth the drive!

I called mid-Thursday afternoon for a reservation that evening for 7:00 for two. "Would 7:15 be OK?" Sure, that was fine. We arrive at 7:12. We stand there for a few minutes. Our reservation is checked and I am offered the wine list to peruse. 7:18, 7:19, 7:20. "Would you like to order a glass of wine while you wait?" "No, thank you, but we would like to sit down." (There were four empty tables, two that were two tops). "We are waiting for people to finish and leave. 7:23, 7:24, 7:25. We decided that we would be the ones to leave. I am disappointed because I really wanted to try it!

Excellent service and delicious food! It was our first time at uniscali and we had no reservations. We arrived at 4:15 for happy hour on a Friday. The staff let us know they could seat us however the table was reserved at 6:45. That would give us plenty of time. We ordered bruschetta, duck with a cranberry citrus sauce, and calamari steak fries! Everything was delicious. The unicooler beverage was refreshing and delicious. We ordered carrot cake for dessert and were treated with 2 shots of delicious homemade lemon cello. We will be back, but will make reservations next time!!

Wow! My Wife & I have lived in the area and this is our first time. Highly recommend the signature dish the cioppino. We 'll be back soon. This is a night of firsts, we never get desserts. We broke down & ordered the double chocolate bread pudding was. I agree with other reviewers, that the staff is very professional and helpful

Union and Uniscali are our top favorite. What makes Uniscali different from Union is that I would consider it more of a "date" place. It is not as loud and definitely not for kids. I've seen people dressed to the nines and some in casual clothes. Definitely a place to dress up and have a romantic date. Portions are generous and prices are fair for this type of place (upper 20s $). Happy hour is affordable.

Uniscali is rarely open. The website says Thursday through Saturday, but if the week has a holiday in it - Christmas, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Groundhog Day, Left-handed Albino Brick Layers Day - they don't open at all. Add to that that they have only a few tables, and getting in is tough. Make a reservation. They do have a community table, which is fun, so is is possible to walk in a get a seat at it, in theory. I'm told it has happened before. But make a reservation. The food is worth it. We usually order multiple small plates tapas style and skip on the main course. My favorite food on the menu is the brussel sprouts with prosciutto and fried sage. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is an after dinner liqueur called Nocello, an unctuous, viscous walnut based liquid sent from the Gods that I can't find anywhere else. And then there are the peanut butter bites. They sell them at both Uniscali and their other digs, Union Bistro (which is open far more often). Peanut Butter bites are a homemade chocolate peanut butter glory which they sell for $1.50. DO NOT SHARE! More than one diner has ended up in the ER with a fork sticking out of their hand. My husband thinks they should have a guy in a trench coat in the alley taking cash and passing them out in brown paper bags. The service is always spot on. They advertise that they source all of their ingredients form local and responsible sources, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Last time we were there, a friend ordered the salmon and it was clearly farm-raised, which the internet says is now OK, and I always trust the internet, but still. Wear loose clothing. Park on the street. Leave the kids at your mom's.

We stopped by while watching the bicyle races. It was empty and we were seated quickly. The menu sounded great. The service was fast and the beer was cold. Now the bad news. The kids' menu was weak and both kids at our table were not pleased with the pizza. A box to take home just meant it sat in the refrigerator until tossed a couple of days later. Also, the sliders had a weird, unusual flavor...not bad, just not real good. The prices, for an afternoon in Castle Rock seemed excessive. Two of the people at our table seemed to enjoy their choices...that is why it is a 3 and not a 2 star. Will I return? Probably not.

We, my wife and I, were here on a Saturday night. Came a little earlier than our reservation and had to wait. The staff there is so great, they took our drink order and brought them to us as we waited. When we were finally sat our server was wonderful. We ordered the roasted beets and cauliflower and also the mussels as an appetizer. Then we split the beef filet for the entree. They individually plated the split entree. Everything was perfect. Then when we got our bill they had comped one of the appetizers because we were so patient waiting to be sat. We love it here.

Went there for a girls night. It was FABULOUS! We choose to just get several of the small plates and share, it was a great idea. The small plates are exactly the right size for doing kind of a tapas style meal or if you want to indulge before your actual meal. The Uniscali house salad is very very good and a perfect size if you want to get it pre main meal as it won't fill you up and it's only $3! The Italian Mac&Cheese is to die for and the Bruschetta is oh so yummy! They do serve unlimited bread as most Italian places do, however Uniscali's is very good, just beware because you can fill up on this quickly! It is a ciabatta bread that is toasted with olive oil, garlic and salt and then drizzled with a balsamic reduction.... SOOOOO good! The only thing we ordered that was sub-par was the calamari. :( The description makes it sound yummy, but the batter is way too heavy and overpowers the calamari itself. I'm also not one for calamari with a mayo sauce and it sits on a spread of mayo with a lighter dipping sauce. It just was not very good. The staff is all very nice and they do all work together which is great. However our waiter was dull and forgot some of our order, even after he wrote it down??!!?? So I'd give him a thumbs down, but other than that they are professional and very nice. I will be going to this place again, it was great!

I am BEYOND devastated that Uniscali closed. According to Union they didn't want to sign another lease in their current location- I'm telling myself it is because they want to open back up elsewhere in downtown CR. PLLEEEASE COME BACK!!!

You need a reservation to get into Uniscali. The place is always hopping, and the food and service are great. The interior is busy and noisy, but the food oh so good. We really like the calamari to get started. The pasta is wonderful, prepared quickly and delivered hot. We do not feel rushed, and enjoy the wine list. We really like dining here and always look forward to trying something new. You will enjoy dining here.

Uniscali is our favorite restaurant! We have been over 15 times and every time the food is absolutely delicious and so unique! I have truly never gotten anything I didn't like. The staff is so nice and the owner always comes to say hello. The happy hour is really affordable. Highly recommended!

The meals are excellent! The mussels are to die for! I have eaten here several times and was always very pleased with the food, presentation and atmosphere. I usually go on happy hour where you get great deals on food and wine. I when on Saturday night and asked for the "house cab". They said its our "something-rather" and I naturally said yes. When the bill came, the house cab was $14.50! There were other wines by the glass that were $8. I love to eat there and will continue but a house wine should be $6-$10, not $14.50! When they ask if a certain bottle will be ok, guest naturally say "yes" BECAUSE ITS HOUSE WINE, the least expensive glass of wine! It would be nice if the establishment showed the house wine on the menu.

This cozy restaurant was a treat on a snowy winter evening! We ordered several small plates with the Italian egg rolls being our favorite- the pesto it comes with is divine! My boyfriend ordered the cioppino and we were impressed with the high quality seafood in a landlocked state like Colorado. I ordered the lasagna and didn't love the dollop of what I think was ricotta cheese on top, but I think that was more of a personal preference. We had the peanut butter chocolate bite for dessert and it was perfect. We always seem to want something sweet after our dinner but are usually too full for a big dessert. We also loved the free shot of lemoncello - while it is a small gesture, it made it feel like a special occasion. We are already planning to come back sometime for happy hour.

I have eaten there and had several drinks there over the last Six years. Have always been extremely satisfied and would use the restaurant as a benchmark for the highest caliber. If I ever live in another city, I would always compare with Uniscali.

Fabulous restaurant tucked into Castle Rock! They are only open on the weekend, so reservations are a must. The food is always delicious and displayed elegantly. The wine list is varied and they serve it in thirds of a bottle (1/3, 2/3, or whole), so you are set for wine for the entire meal. They have a long list of small plates that can make a meal by themselves. The desserts are also yummy. There is a caramel Italian pudding that sounded sort of odd, but it was delicious and scraped to the very bottom!! The only negative to this restaurant is that it is a small space and the tables are close together. If at a 2-seater table, one must use smaller hand gestures so as to not clip a waiter or waitress traveling the table lanes!

If you can sneak away early from the office on a week night when their happy hour is in full bloom, you'll get some amazing food at fantastic deals. We've been a few times just to enjoy Happy Hour and indulged in some awesome appetizers. Well, it could have fed a family of 4, we ordered so much! But it was delicious! And the cocktail and wine prices were great too. We also went during restaurant week and had an amazing meal on "date night". The only downfall? They're not opened every night. And we always forget about that, but guess that is the only way a good restaurant in a growing town can stay in business. I don't mind, as long as they have a table available when we want to visit. ;-)

I've only eaten here once but our first experience was pretty good. I'd probably eat here more often if they had a normal schedule and were bigger so you didn't have to get a reservation all the time. Like the Union Bistro (same owners) they have a great little plates menu. I love this because we can try several different things. In the case of Uniscali everything we had was good. The tuna tartare and the mussels were especially good for us.

Enjoyed our first meal at Uniscali on a Friday night. Reservations highly recommended! This is a small, neighborhood gem that fills up quickly. The restaurant is a one-room location with an open kitchen. We arrived early for our reservation - there is not a bar area per se, so we waited for a short amount of time. The wine list is diverse and very reasonably priced. There are some great wines under $30/bottle. We loved the long list of small plates. The pre-dinner salads were the right size and price ($3). We had the salmon and the squash raviloli - both were excellent. The ravioli, in particular, was perhaps the best preparation I've had. Not too sweet, easy on the sauce, and just the right size. We didn't have room for the dessert (although it looked great), but we did enjoy the espresso and a limoncello. We were very impressed by the professionalism of the staff. It's a group that helps each other out and has a good attention to detail. The whole kitchen thanked us as we left. Overall I would say this is a great location, the food is fantastic, the people and scene is fun. I had heard that this place was pricey - perhaps if you compare it to some of the other places in Castle Rock, but honestly I would put this restaurant in the category of some of the better restaurants in Denver, and for what you get, it's a great deal. The menu is very unique and it truly a great find. We'll be back.

First time - wonderful experience - beautifully prepared fresh dinners which can be vegetarian - nice wine choices - great salads - delicious warm seasoned bread - tight quarters - no privacy - a bit slow on service not sure if there was music BUT sincerely warm knowledgable wait people - it is a happening place! We will return

Exceptional every time. Food quality is great and the portions are hearty. We love the creative appetizers, the nightly specials, and the awesome desserts. Highly recommend you go here. One note, the open floor plan is not for everyone. It can get loud.

It's a small place, so get there by 5 if you have no reservation. The food and nibbles are gourmet and friendly priced at happy hour. Upscale. Beautiful food and great service. I wish they were open more than Thursday-Saturday! You can go there dressed up, but it is Colorado so you will also see people in jeans.

Another one of our favorite places to eat in Castle Rock, nouveau Italian, creative and very good. The same owners as Union, further South on Wilcox St. The service is excellent, although I have had a special I didn't care for. They absolutely made it right and that is why we come back again and again. A previous poster mentioned the lack of a kids menu, this is not a place for kids, it is high quality restaurant with high quality food catering to couples and those out for a fine meal. Overall excellent food, good wine list and excellent service. Recommend.

We have been to Uniscali many, many times and have always enjoyed it. As mentioned in other reviews, you do need reservations for Fri and Sat nights. And, yes. Try the Ciopinno! Great wine selection. It seems we always bump into people we know when we go there. Service is great!

Enjoyed my first meal here with a friend who highly recommended going. I would say the one downfall is the restaurant is small and so make sure you make reservation. The food was fabulous with the ability to alter dishes for vegetarians. The staff were friendly and attentive.

My husband and I have been here twice, and we've had a phenomenal experience both times. Definitely make a reservation or you'll be waiting for a LONG time, which is only a further indication of how awesome this little restaurant is. The wine list is excellent, and the food is creative and delicious. We had particularly awesome service from the manager last time we visited because we had to wait slightly past our reservation time for a table - this didn't bother us one bit, but the manager comped one of our appetizers anyway. This went above and beyond for us (especially since we only had to wait about ten minutes...that's nothing on a very busy Saturday). Everything on the menu is great! I can't wait to go back!

This place is fantastic! You definitely need a reservation on a Friday Saturday, but the food is worth the wait. The Cioppino was amazing!! I've had it twice although my husband gets the specials and he loves those as well. I honestly can't rave enough about the place. The waiters are friendly, the owner checks on your table and the food is fresh. It's not a place for kids. I get a babysitter on nights we go. Who doesn't need a night out! If you haven't been you have to go!

Excellent all around! Great food. Home made pasta, fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of flavors. The service was perfect with our waitress checking on us just enough. I liked that the glass of wine was a glass and an half--just enough for dinner. The staff worked really hard preparing food, busing tables, and getting tables set for the next diners. No slackers there! The management should be very proud of their staff. . The complimentary lemoncello to finish is a nice touch. Loved everything about the place.

Simply put- I love this place. It's as good as it gets, and if it were in downtown Denver or Cherry Creek it would thrive. I've eaten here at least once a month since they opened about 2 years ago or so, and I've never been disappointed. The homemade ciabatta is amazing. Menu items are always wonderful, but I almost always get whatever the special is. Since they're only open Thur-Sat, I love coming in for fish on Thursday night. Wines are thoughtfully selected, and the wine list manages to be outstanding without being pretentious or overpriced. Service likewise is always perfect. I'm pretty finicky about service, and I've never felt slighted here. The hostess makes sure you're happy, and I love that. I really can't say enough about the food or service here. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

My wife and I went to this place last night.we received a gift certificate to go have dinner here food, and wine.I have to say that I have drove past his place many times and never considered going here.boy was I mistaken. we booked our reservations, and when we arrived the place was full, but that's okay we got a seat at the wine bar and had some wine, and looked over their menu.their menu structure is completely awesome. when we got to our seats I was able to look around at their decorations and decor of their dining room, and the atmosphere was extremely beautiful, and perfect dining light. we started out with their broccoli appetizer, and let me just say that was completely awesome.that is a must try. their food is great, and the staff attitude was spot on.their prices are right for the quality of food and I say this being an ex cook of 12 years. I definitely would recommend this place to anybody that is looking for a great night out., in addition, my wife and I definitely will be returning here soon.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Matthew M.
This place is incredible. My favorite restaurant in Colorado. Everything is made with excellence. Even the bread that they serve is to die for!!
(5)Hiemi H.

(5)Bonnie L.
There is NO way this restaurant is only 4.5 - in the last year we have visited many times ~ just last eve and was extremely pleased with service friendly greeters, not to mention the amazing dishes!!!! TEN stars all the way!!!!
(5)Andrea K.

(4)R P.
(4)Phillip P.
Best kept happy hour secret in Castle Rock if you want to meet friends and actually hear each other. Happy hours apps are wonderful. Expect the entrees would be as well, but never have room. Very few tables and reservations are suggested.
(5)Cody P.

(5)Hal B.
(4)erika s.
very small--reservations recommended. this place is really cute and a fooler from the outside. scallop app is very good. salads are the perfect size and really reasonably priced--about $3 for a small one. i preferred their house salad over the casaer. my mom had the veal piccata. i had the cioppiono--delicious. we would have never found this place had it not been a favorite of the couple we were staying with--small and tucked away. we were lucky. you won't leave hungry and you'll want to go back.
(5)Steve L.
(5)Ryan C.
Good, but not for the price. Plus no full bar. I would drive down the street and go to Union Bistro instead (owned by the same people I think).
(3)Mary G.
The food was pretty good but not much to choose from. Service was very slow and this place is expensive
(2)Guy P.
(2)LJ S.
Call before you go - reservation advised and not open every night. BUT...totally worth the pre-planning! I gave inky eaten the small bites so cannot comment on dinner. Small bites are excellent!!! Have several and don't even worry about dinner!!
(5)Blake H.

(5)Walter F.
This WAS the very best. Unfortunately they are closed really closed maybe they will return someday at a different location. They are missed.
(5)Trevor R.
CLOSED!!!! Really not surprised since they weren't open most of the time and always closed holidays weekends and basically closed all the time. If lucky to try not able to anymore.
(1)Colin M.
(5)Jerry S.
(5)Richard D.
Food is always good. Chicken w/Mushroom Risotto was perfect. Good service.
(4)Kelly M.
(4)David P.
(5)Kristin S.
I really like this place. Didn't know they have a great happy hour. They have $2 beer, and bellinis. And they have some happy hour apps. They have an afternoon happy hour, as well as one from 8 to 9, which is cool.
(4)Sarah R.
(5)Stacey R.

CLOSED - New restaurant is Vista Vino Modern Grill with same phone number (303)660-2005

(5)Gary G.
(5)Julieta P.
(5)Jeffrey Z.
Best Italian in the area. Great flavors. Good place for a romantic dinner.
(5)Jennifer S.
(5)Lee S.
(3)Noah B.
(5)Jennifer K.
Yummy! We really enjoyed the happy hour appetizers and bread pudding with salted caramel ice cream. Service was excellent!
(4)Carey B.
(4)Gretchen P.
I am BEYOND devastated that Uniscali closed. According to Union they didn't want to sign another lease in their current location- I'm telling myself it is because they want to open back up elsewhere in downtown CR. PLLEEEASE COME BACK!!!
(5)Scott M.
(5)Bill S.
My wife and I had dinner here with our good friends last week. Appetizers, dinner and dessert were all very good. Nice atmosphere but you would never guess this place was as nice or that you would get a great meal from the outside.
(5)DannyandLauren C.
Uniscali is our favorite restaurant! We have been over 15 times and every time the food is absolutely delicious and so unique! I have truly never gotten anything I didn't like. The staff is so nice and the owner always comes to say hello. The happy hour is really affordable. Highly recommended!
(5)Michael L.
If the olives had come out before the main courses, I might have gone 5 stars. This is the best place (quality of good & flavor) in town that we've had so far.
(4)C J.

I live in Denver and come here to eat! This place is AMAZING. Worth the drive and some of the best italian I've ever had.
